On the platform you will encounter 3 primary forms of measurement.

What Linear Cubic Quadratic Space_.png

Linear Space

The amount of space measuring only an X axis of a site

How is it calculated: (ProductWidth x Facings Wide)

Example: If your product width is 20cms, and there are two facings, your Linear space is 40cm.

Quadratic Space

The amount of space measuring an X & Y axis of a site

Formula: (ProductWidth x Facings Wide) x (ProductHeight x Facings High)

Example: If your product is 20cms wide and 30cms tall, and there are 2 facings wide and 2 facings high on shelf, your quadratic space is (2 x 20) x (2 x 30) = 2400cm²

Tip: If there is lots of stacking in the category this is the best space metric to use.

Cubic Space

The amount of space measuring X, Y & Z dimensions of a site

Formula: (ProductWidth x Facings Wide) x (ProductHeight x Facings High) x (ProductDepth x Facings Deep)

Tip: Useful metric to have when wanting to calculate optimum shelf capacity/maximizing availability, to be overlaid with ROS data.
